Response operation to YAAKOB II

The M/V "YAAKOB II", a bulk carrier ran aground on the 13th July, at the area off Lipsoi island.  MEGATUGS quickly responded with a tug on site assisted by OSRA for the protection of the marine environment.  The casualty suffered serious hull damages including water ingress to the forepeak and cargo hold after its grounding to the rocky shores.  A contract was eventually awarded to MEGATUGS to refloat the casualty.    The operation involved various salvage works as well as anti-pollution services which were entrusted to OSRA until the redelivery of "YAAKOB II" back to its Owners at Piraeus roads.
