OSRA Tunisia in discussions with ETAP

The Tunisian National Oil Company (ETAP) wishes to establish a credible and practical Tier 2 oil spill response coordination system in Tunisia in the form of Public Private Partnership "PPP". To ensure all options past and present are considered, ETAP arranged to visit various Tier 2 facilities throughout the region, coordinated by MOIG. The main purpose of these meetings was to exchange information and knowledge on oil spill preparedness and response with industry experts and also see first hand the operations, planning, management, resources of personnel and equipment, infrastructures and architectural aspects.

OSRA International and OSRA Tunisia invited ETAP and MOIG to visit the regional response base in Greece. Meetings were held during the 17th March in the offices of OSRA Greece, followed by a visit to the Piraeus Tier 2 base, and then to the 24H communications control centre. OSRA looks forward to continuation of the very valid discussions started at this meeting. Regional Operations Manager - Sandro Sammut commented that "The maturity of ETAP's vision and MOIG's invaluable assistance, present an important opportunity for Tunisia. We have been operating in Tunisia for eight years and have conducted many projects - this is a very interesting time for all of us and we will bring all this experience, the strength of the Tunisian management team, as well as our international expertise to present a unique PPP proposal."
